What we are aiming at
We build this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, which is the standard most commonly referenced in the United States and internationally.
We believe the site substantially meets that standard, and we are not going to phrase that more strongly than we can support. No independent audit has been carried out, and our testing has been done by the people who built the site rather than by people who rely on assistive technology every day. Those are different things, and the second one finds problems the first one cannot. If you are in the second group and something here fails you, we would genuinely like to know.
What is built in
These are specific, and you can check every one of them:
- A skip link. Press Tab on any page and the first thing you reach is a link that jumps past the navigation straight to the content.
- A visible focus indicator on everything. One ring, defined once, for every link, button and form field, so keyboard users can always see where they are.
- Full keyboard operation. Nothing on this site needs a mouse. The photo gallery opens from the keyboard, traps focus while it is open so you cannot tab out behind it, steps with the arrow keys, closes with Escape, and hands focus back to the thumbnail you came from.
- Reduced motion is respected. If your device asks for less motion, the photography stops drifting, the scroll animations stop, and the hero stops advancing.
- The hero slideshow can be paused by anyone, with a button in the corner of it — not only by people who have found the setting in their operating system.
- Colour contrast is measured, not eyeballed. Text and background pairs are checked against the 4.5:1 ratio WCAG asks for, and the palette has been adjusted where it fell short rather than the standard being adjusted to fit the palette.
- Real structure. Headings run in order without skipping levels, the page has proper landmarks, the FAQ uses native expandable sections, form fields have real labels, and photographs that carry meaning have text alternatives while purely decorative ones are hidden from screen readers rather than announced as noise.
- Targets you can actually hit. Buttons and controls are sized past the minimum WCAG 2.2 asks for, which matters most on a phone.
Where we know we fall short
Naming these is more useful than pretending they are not there.
- The slab inventory is not our software. The Slab Inventory runs on a separate system we license rather than build, and we cannot fix its accessibility ourselves. If it is getting in your way, tell us — we would rather help you directly, and we can raise it with the vendor. In the meantime, phoning the yard gets you a person who can search it for you.
- The map on the contact page comes from Google and carries whatever accessibility Google gives it. The full address, opening hours and a plain text directions link are all on that same page and do not require the map.
- Text set over photography. Parts of this site put white type over slab photographs. We hold it legible with a shadow that travels with the letters, and with a scrim behind it, but a photograph is not a flat colour, so we cannot give you a single contrast figure for those passages the way we can everywhere else. Every fact that appears over a photograph — the address, the hours, the phone number — also appears as ordinary text elsewhere on the site, on our contact page and in the footer of every page.
- Our sister companies’ websites are separate businesses on separate systems, and this statement does not cover them.
If something does not work
Please tell us. A specific report — which page, what you were trying to do, what happened, and what you are using — is enormously more useful than a general one, but do not let that stop you sending a general one.

We aim to reply within five business days. If a fix is going to take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and roughly when.
Getting to the stone another way
If any part of this website is a barrier, it does not have to be the route in. The showroom is open to the public with no appointment, our staff will walk the racks with you and describe what is there, and we are happy to take the whole conversation over the phone. The website exists to help you choose stone. If it is not helping, call us at 1 (972) 807-6187 and we will do it the old way.
Keeping this honest
We review this page when we change the site. It describes the site as it is now, not as we would like it to be, and when we fix something listed above we will move it out of the limitations and into what is built in.
