Black Soapstone
Not yet photographedAsk us to send a photo of the slab
A soft, dark gray-black stone made largely of talc, with a smooth, slightly waxy feel. It is dense and non-porous, and acid does not etch it. It scratches more easily than granite, but scratches can be sanded out. Rubbed with mineral oil, it darkens to near black.
