Cristallo
Nearly translucent, and normally bought to be lit from behind rather than looked at flat. Pale, glassy and crystalline, with the light travelling into the stone instead of stopping on it. Spectacular on a backlit island face or a bar front; somewhat wasted laid flat under a cupboard.
